We have allergies, so most of our floors are hard covered. I have tried the scooba, which works well but only does one room at a time, and requires a bit of set up. This product is a third of the price of scooba, and works amazingly well. I suggest vacuuming first, since you do not rinse the mop head and dont want to risk scratching your floor with sandy residue. Then simply fill the mop with water, wait 30 seconds and you're ready to go. I was impressed by the way the mop cleaned, evident by the dirt on the pad! We have one old original wood floor in our bedroom and was a bit leery of trying it on the wood, but seriously, when my husband got home, he asked me what I did to make the floor look so nice! It steamed away stains we were not able to get out with any other method. I love not having to use chemicals on the floors in order to clean them. This mop comes with 5 machine washable pads, so you will not need to buy replacements for a long time, although when you do, you will note that they are expensive! It also comes with a glider for carpets, so you can steam and refresh them. It is a bit awkward to use it, but does the job.

RIP Shark :( I owned this product for 12 months and 2 days when it died. Just out of warranty. I'd buy another on sale - the monthly cost averaged over a year is lower than a mop head replacement and this product works much better than a mop.

Oh, do I love my steam mop! It's so easy, so quick, and so thorough to clean my tile floors! Lightweight and easily maneuverable in tight corners, it's the answer I've been looking for. I do not have hardwood floors, so can't rate its performance on those.

Love it for cleaning my hardwood floors and tile, but only lived 6 months, with infrequent use (twice a month). Very sad when it broke! Cleaned great, no chemicals, light weight. Wish the reservoir was larger and the cord was longer.

Pros: Cleans and sanitizes tile and laminate floors very well.
Cons: Flimsy handle. Short cord. Small tank.

This mop works great for small areas. I have a small bathroom and a small kitchen. I can clean and santitize both areas in 10 minutes. I love it.

I was satisfied with the Shark Steam cleaner the first time I used it on my ceramic floors. I was thrilled the second time when I used it on a fixer upper home with filthy ceramic tiled floors. It took a lot of strokes, but came clean. The third time I went to use it, a little steam came out, but mostly it was just puddles of water. I got out the directions to troubleshoot and read how I shouldn't have washed the pads with powdered soap or bleach or fabric softener (which I had). I purchased new pads and tried again.The forth time, no water and no steam, but I could feel the warmth in the water tank. Euro Pro has offered to "fix" it for about $40 total, (shipping and handling both ways, plus $17.95), because it is now slightly over a year old. I had used tap water since the safety instructions suggested you use distilled water if you have hard water. (which we don't). Next, I tried using the distilled vinegar (like in a coffee pot), and it still won't steam or even pump the water out. The only thing that works is the heating element as the water resivour was hot. I won't be paying to have it fixed. A product that quits working after two usages is not worth it.

I had this mop for about a year when it stopped working. The power light is still on but there is little to no steaming action. As far as how it worked when I could use it, I would say it was not bad. I mean, it seemed to do the job, though the steaming was always kind of irregular. The floor was moderately wet and at times took up to 1 or 2 minutes to dry. It felt somewhat flimsy but it did hold up overall.

I have had this mop for about 4 months now and use it a lot. Today I was using it and it sparked and the clip to hold the cord when not in use broke. I wrote to the company and am waiting for a response. I will probably call tomorrow, but will update when I find out more.
