I needed a steamer to clean the bird cages. Birds carry food in their beaks as they climb the cage leaving it gooey plus removing feces is much easier with a steamer. I originally had purchased a Shark canister style steamer and was happy with it so decided to "graduate" to a more professional model.

I purchased this from **** (not through Amazon). I was so excited to receive the steamer and was eager to try it out on the cages. It didn't work. Returned this item 3 times before it worked. So I currently have over $80 in shipping costs and steamer has not cleaned anything. Steamer worked about a year with light use (I guess I thought if I didn't use it too much it would be okay) before it broke again. I took it to my local vacuum repair shop. They found that the hose was split that carried the steam. Had it repaired (another $35#. I just used it for the first time today and it worked for about 5 minutes then the hose blew again. Now I will need to purchase a new hose #$79.95) as there is no way to repair the hose again.

When it worked it did a nice job but truthfully not that much better than the Shark I purchased at the Penney's Outlet for $25. The hose handle would work better for getting into the cages if it was smaller. My favorite tool is the squeegee as it does an exceptional job on mirrors and windows.

In this price range it is a good buy but be careful that you carefully read the company's return policy. I would also recommend purchasing an extended warranty.

This product really does what it says, I have only used it for about an hour, but it was a champ the whole time. I was worried about all the plastic, but after using the machine, it is very clear that this has been built for serious cleaning. Not some toy. The fill nozzle isn't designed well, you do scrap your hand while un-screwing, but the nipple is brass, and has a nice seal. Also the unit I have after an hour of use, was hitting near the 6 bar mark on the pressure gauge. I assume this is because of the continued use, first time powering it up it was hitting 5 bar no problem.

You can get about a minute of continuous steam, but the key is to use the steam like a gun, and pull the trigger as you scrub with the attachments. Did my shower which hasn't be done in 'long enough' in 30 minutes. This is a tile on floor, ceiling, bench, and walls shower, with 1" sized tile, you can imagine doing it by hand! After 30 minutes it was better than I had ever done by hand.

This unit has the gauge, which is VERY nice, because it shows you the pressure, and that is what counts. Also attachments appear well built and have stood up to a lot of 'pressure' and torque while cleaning this afternoon. Great purchase, wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Windows alone it is worth it! Did 4 vinyl windows in 7 minutes, I don't think I could have done 2 windows in 7 minutes the old fashion way.
